Tilghman United Methodist Church is a historic church located on Tilghman Island, Maryland. We are entirely surrounded by water, but are less than 20 minutes from historic St. Michael's and only a half hour from Easton, totally accessible by car. We are a warm, loving community of faith, deeply rooted in the teachings of Christ. We provide a welcoming, comfortable service for all people.
So whether you are a waterman or other "from here," a resident who has "come here," or are just visiting the Eastern shore for a relaxing weekend, we would love to welcome you into our church!
Church can happen anywhere. It happens when we create learning opportunities that transform lives. It happens when we create safe environments where children can play and learn. It happens when education makes the path to citizenship a little easier. And when our sacrifices help nourish students’ minds and bodies. That’s putting beliefs into action.
To be a covenant community of loving Christians who glorify God through worship, teaching, studying God's Word, and by witnessing through word and deed. We seek to share God's love in Jesus Christ as His body, individually and collectively, through the leading and power of the Holy Ghost with our community and the world by ministering to people where they are in their lives.
Do all the good you can,By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can. Often attributed to John Wesley
I am no longer my own but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt. Put me to doing, put me to suffering. Let me be employed for thee or laid aside for thee, Exalted for thee or brought low for thee. Let me be full, let me be empty. Let me have all things, let me have nothing. I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal. And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.
