Welcome to Tilghman United Methodist Church

Methodists have been worshiping on Tilghman's Island since the 18th century. The first church was built at our current location between 1879 and 1882, a one room structure with a steeple and belfry. The current church was erected in 1913. The church features ornate stained-glass windows with a simple gothic-based design. For a more complete history, click HERE.

Tilghman United Methodist Church is an historic church located on Tilghman Island, Maryland.

We are entirely surrounded by water, but are less than 20 minutes from historic St. Michaels and only a half hour from Easton, totally accessible by car.

We are a warm, loving community of faith, deeply rooted in the teachings of Christ.

We provide a welcoming, comfortable service for all people. So whether you are a waterman or just visiting the Eastern shore, or make your home here year-round, we would love to welcome you into our church!

Help With Christmas Gifts For Area Children?

The church has been asked to help with Christmas gifts for six children from three local families. We are coordinating with the school counselor at TES who identified the students and contacted the families for needs, sizes, etc. This year, with the increased enrollment at the school, there are more students on the list. The Sherwood PALS group has been doing this for several years and has taken 12 students this year, while in previous years PALS handled the entire list when there was less than 10 children identified. We are aiming to spend about $60 per child, the same as what Sherwood plans to spend. Please contact Susan ([email protected] or 410-886-9863) if you would like to help with this project. I am willing to do the shopping and wrapping if you would like to make a cash donation.
